No more Blogger, full on Google+ from now on

I have been using Google+ to post updates, and share my new work and other animations I find online that I find inspirational. I don't think I'll be posting to this Blog anymore, instead, I will focus on Google Plus and keep it all there.

There is ample room for conversations in G+, and I find that I get a bigger audience, more interaction, and sharing is much easier. If you don't know me in person, please still feel free to add me there anyway, my updates are public and for everyone to comment on.

Follow me on Google+

If you liked my blog and like my work, find me on Google Plus and add me to your circles. I'll see you there!

Possible Futures Film Contest

The Windmill Farmer is competing in the Possible Futures Film Contest. It's a neat online festival with some fantastic categories, and there's an audience award decided by the number of votes cast online.

If you'd like to help me out and vote, you can go to the link below, register on the page and then click the bit red VOTE button.

3d printed models available to order

I activated a Shapeways Store to order Sebastian's Voodoo dolls, made from the original 3d model with original textures.

It's through Shapeways, which lets you order directly, with free shipping worldwide. Free shipping is awesome.

There are two versions, the main one like this:

And the mini dolls (so cute!):

For the mini, you can pick in different materials, the steel one is my favorite because it's fucking steel.

Buy your own right here (did I mention free shipping?)

New figure drawings, conté and ink

Here are some more recent live drawings. Ink only on cheap newsprint paper, no underdrawings, between 1 and 5 minute poses.

I took a picture inside a bonsai tree

Timothy and I went to the Huntington Gardens yesterday, to take some reference pics for a project I'm working on. We went through the bonsai garden and I managed to snap this pic before the security guy kicked me out (I jumped over to the other side of the viewing area to snap it):

I only had time for one shot, which was slightly out of focus but I'm happy with it. The greatest thing is where this was located: inside a hollow, beautiful bonsai tree:

Since I was carrying an 18mm to 300mm lens, to get it right I had to zoom almost all the way in and stand back, so it was really hard to get the pic without shaking everywhere.

Ink Drawings

I've been practicing using a pure black in pen, with brush tip, straight on without using construction lines or underdrawings. It's messy, but decidedly final and that makes it feel good. These poses are 5 minutes (heads) and 2 minutes (bodies).

Figure drawings, crazy guys

We had the most demented models yesterday, they were awesome. 5 minute poses, it was hard to draw much, being 2 figures at once in such a short time, we were focusing on expressions and interaction between the two.
